| Breaking News |  | Ouch! Orlando Ibarra Shelved by Injury
Monday, September 6th, 2010: The Toros will be minus Orlando Ibarra for about 2-3 weeks after the reliever suffered a strained biceps while throwing a pitch in a recent game against Philadelphia. Ibarra and the El Paso skipper were hoping further examination might show there was less damage than originally thought and he would be absent a shorter duration.
So far this season, Ibarra has a 5-3 won-lost record with 1 save. He has made 61 relief appearances, logged 85.1 innings and fanned 76 batters while fashioning a 2.64 ERA and allowing the opposition a .207 batting average. |

Monday, September 6th, 2010: There's nothing like being in the prime of your baseball career -- and playing like it. Just ask Spencer Underwood, the Shreveport third baseman, who swung a sweet bat all week to not only aid his team, but also pick up the Stats Only Baseball League Player of the Week honors.
Underwood piled up 12 hits in 28 at-bats, 4 home runs and 11 RBIs while hitting .429.
So far this year Underwood is batting .303 with 24 home runs, 94 RBIs and 91 runs scored. |

Saturday, September 4th, 2010: Shreveport starting pitcher Ray Thomas has radial nerve compression, suffered while throwing a pitch. He's expected to be out for 8-9 months.
This year Thomas has posted a 10-11 mark in 28 starts and has a 3.68 ERA. |
